Meet Nicole Groves, LPC

My name is Nicole Groves, and I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges with resilience and self-awareness. You deserve a counselor who understands both the complexity of the human mind and the importance of a safe, inclusive environment.

My Background and Journey

I earned my undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and my graduate degree from Lamar University in Texas. My career began in the classroom. As a former K-12 educator, I spent years inspiring young minds and understanding developmental growth. This experience shaped my compassionate approach to mental health. Today, I combine my educational background with extensive clinical training to provide holistic care for your mental well-being.

Expertise and Clinical Focus

This practice supports individuals who often feel misunderstood by traditional clinical settings. It serves as a nonjudgmental haven for the following communities:

  • The LGBTQ+ community.

  • Polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous individuals.

  • The kink and BDSM communities.

My use of evidence-based practices to address trauma, anxiety, and depression includes specialized training in methods such as:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

  • TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
